Life Drawing.

First of all my most humble apologies for not being so active both in posting, and visiting your blogs. A combination of internet problems and lack of time due to work have caused this, none of which Ive been able to help.
As you can imagine, Ive not been able to produce much lately but I thought I could take this opportunity to post some oldies. These are pencil drawings from life, I used to pay at the door to draw from a model. This was a time when I drew almost every day. I feel my observation was sharper then than it is now but hey, there will be more time again at some point. More oldies to follow.

    1. Many thanks Pat. I think I did have more patience 20 odd years ago, I had more time too!

  2. As they say, oldies but goodies...beautiful to see your older work. It is always a struggle to find the time to do the things we enjoy, I hope you will be able to get back to it soon!

    1. Thanks Vic. Yes, life drawing, more than anything else, makes you attend to the fundamentals. It's good ground work. Glad you are enjoying it too.

  4. Thanks so much for coming over to my blog and commenting when time is so precious. I enjoy reading your comments.

Great job on the drawings, Kevin! The body shapes are nicely done. Too bad work gets in the way of our creative side. I haven't taken a life drawing class in ages...maybe I need to get into that too.

    1. Thank you Joan! Think nothing of it. Do you know, it's actually easier to share views on art from someone like yourself, from another country, than it is with someone from home and it's all due to my job. LOL!!! Aaah, the miracles of technology!!!

    1. Hello Kev,
I was away for more than a week, so I was also absent in the bloggerworld. I am impressed with these drawings. Unlike you I have no oldies, because unfortunately I just started my painting a few years ago. And the reason, as we all know, lack of time.

    2. Thanks Cora. Lack of time is so frustrating, especially when something has gone well and you are "on a roll". All we can do is do our best and keep plugging away. The oldies will appear eventually. Lol.

  6. Oh what a wonderful idea to share your "oldies". I love it to see how many different variations of art you made. And you have captured so many details and how great it looks how you have met the movement of the models. I'm looking forward to more oldies!

    1. Thanks so much Stefanie! As we say in the UK, the old ones are always the best ones! As I grow older I have to keep believing that, LOL!!!

  7. Oh my goodness, these are in incredible! I imagine that one has to work quite fast when drawing from life (I have never done it), but if so, your attention to detail and striking value changes makes me stand in awe all the more. Fantastic!

    1. Thank you so much for such a lovely comment! I'm not going to lie, these weren't done quickly, truth is one of them took 2 sittings and a total of 5 hours. This kind of work really stretched me.

  8. I really enjoyed seeing these wonderful drawings - full of sensitive shading and volume. They would be wonderful to use as studies for paintings. They are fully realized interiors with nudes. Fabulous stuff could come from these. I love the work of B Dunstan.

    1. Thanks so much Julie. I'm hoping for a change of working hours in the next few months so I can once again do more of this sort of thing. Thanks for the heads up, I'm off to check out B. Dunstan now. Hope you enjoyed your hols.
